Raphael Futura’s latest track, ‘Take A Chance’, is a laid-back and restrained piece which combines influence from a variety of electronic genres. His deep vocal is soulful and powerful, with a delivery not far from hip-hop. Luscious, smooth chords and funky beats form the mellow accompaniment. He explains that the track “was the very first song I wrote for myself and I also used it as a vehicle to bring something new out of me. I took a chance at writing this song and it helped me find the path of the album; the reward is always in a form of risk”. The album he mentions is his upcoming debut, Riviera, set for a release this year. Following on from work alongside the likes of Trey Songz and G-Unit, we can expect big things from the album. - Dan Peeke
